Event highlights
There are so many exciting things happening at Heart of the City!
We have experienced the grace and gratitude of many helping our community. In December, we completed the Share the Warmth drive. We were blessed to collect enough cold weather items to help around 100 people. We gathered gift cards for the Valentine's Love your Neighbor Event in February. This drive collected over $1500 in gift cards to help our community with emergency needs. Thank you to all those who contributed to making this happen!
We are expanding
The Heart Of The City is growing.
We are in the process of growing! Later this year, Heart of the City will extend our space at our current location. Counseling services are expanding to meet the community's growing needs. The past couple of years have impacted our community, and the amount of resource services we provide has increased. We are excited about what is to come and will keep you updated on our future plans!
Our volunteers
We love our volunteers!
At the Heart of the City, we value our volunteers. In the past two years, we have continued working with families in the community but have not been physically open to the public. Since December, with the help of our beloved volunteers, we have been able to open our doors! Thank you, volunteers, for all you do! We are still looking for some volunteers interested in helping out during business hours to open up fully. If you or someone you know is interested, please click here to help or call 503-582-8680.
We have some other volunteer opportunities if you're interested in events. Heart of the City is in the planning stages for our annual Gear Up 4 School project. For the past few years, we have kept it small and simple, our greatest need getting supplies to kids being the focus. We want to do something similar for 2022 and are looking for individuals and businesses to come alongside us to support our community. If you are interested or know a company interested in collaborating with us, please reach out. We would love to bring our community together and show families we care and support them. Please get in touch with Lyn Whelchel at lyn@theheartofthecity.org.
